The Grayson County Amateur Radio Club, Inc., founded in 1994, is an ARRL-affiliated Special Service Club, and is not-profit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization. Any donations to the GCARC (Grayson County Amateur Radio Club) qualify for a tax exemption and very much appreciated.

The Grayson County Amateur Radio Club is friendly group of radio enthusiasts with a wide range of ham radio interests. Our membership includes casual operators, dedicated DXers, digital specialists, and everyone in between. Whether you are a seasoned ham, just earned your license, or are interested in learning more about amateur radio, you are welcome in the GCARC.

The club actively seeks out new opportunities to “get out of the shack” and operate in the field. We have several annual special event stations, participate heartily in Field Day, and assist charitable groups, such as the Kiwanis, with communications during their fund raising events. We are always up for a new ham radio adventure!

The veteran members of the group are more than happy to assist the newcomers with technical questions and assistance. Need help getting your shack and antenna set-up? We have a special group within the club just for that purpose. Not sure if ham radio is for you? Come out to a special event station and we’ll get you on the air! We even offer classes to help you earn your license. We don’t forget the lady hams either, there is a friendly group of lady operators in GCARC who are always happy to have new ladies join their ranks.

Our monthly meetings are casual affairs, get to know your fellow hams in the area and maybe even learn something new about ham radio. Come out and say hello at our next monthly meeting which takes place on the third Tuesday of every month at the Grayson County Courthouse, 7:00 p.m.. Of course we hope to see you for a treat at Braum’s afterwards as well!
